I have come to love Raku firing. I made a few songbirds and made the crazy decision to raku fire them. This process is wild and unpredictable. I think that is why I love it! And love finding old and vintage objects to inspire a story. This old tin has been sitting outside where I intended to use it as a little flower planter, then some lovely little birds made a nest in it! Its been abandoned and now, it will live it’s life as part of this sculpture!
Because this is a raku fired piece, I consider the surface living. It will change with time. To slow this change, please keep it out of direct sunlight.
