About Tyree
Tyree tells stories with her art. Sometimes, she is inspired by the world around her, in the backyard or in her head. She primarily makes ceramic sculptures of animals or humans. Every piece has a story that connects with people. This is her favorite thing.
Tyree earned her BS in art education from Penn State University and taught for many years until she chose to focus on her two children. She spent time volunteering at their schools teaching, painting murals and helping out where she was needed. She continued to volunteer at events like Pumpkinfest and The Festival of Trees at Pearl S Buck International. Now, in addition to telling stories through her sculptures, she teaches ceramic sculpture throughout the region.
Tyree has found herself making a large variety of things for a large variety of people over the years. She’s made everything from wedding carved pumpkins to photo backdrops to family trees and portraits. This diverse use of materials, this circuitous journey has lead her to where is today. She rarely is working on only one project and often finds herself in the middle of jewelry-making, sculpting and teaching all at the same time.
