Perseverance

Recently, I had some friends over to try to get better. Not one worked. Each time I failed, I learned something else.

Plus, having some friends to make it more fun REALLY helped! Just this week, I got it to work. I am not consistent, but I am learning.

I am being persistent. I will persevere.  I WILL get this.

I encourage you to do the same. We can do the hard things, especially with friends.

This is my word of the week.

When it comes to learning artistic techniques, I never had any trouble. I would breeze though the lesson and generally find success on the first try. This was a huge help when getting my ArtEd degree. Having to learn to teach EVERYTHING was a large and exciting undertaking.

I am discovering more often that this is not always the case! Recently, I have taken on some tasks that have been very challenging to me. For instance, I thought I would start slip casting…no problem!  I was wrong.  A year ago I bought and read books.  Then, I took a week long intensive workshop and thought I had it down. After I got home, I couldn't repeat it!
